- Tutorial #2 - Advanced - Using RSD Files -(Using RadioShack's Scanners)

  • This is a continuation of the Basics of Database creation and management. 
  • This tutorial concentrates on merging several ''RSD databases'' together into one ''Master Database''. RSD files  are only included in our "Packages" or on the COMBO CD
  • You can merge any number of RSD files together,  then use the newly created "Master File" to program your radio
  • RSD FILES ARE ONLY A SAMPLING OF A COUNTY. For a complete database of ALL frequencies you should use the Mr. Scanner FCC Database (See Video Tutorial #4 for how to use)

  • Shows how to program your Radio Shack Scanner using the Mr. Scanner  FCC 50 state database such as found on our ''Combo CD'' package or Mr Scanner FCC CD-ROM.
  • Shows several different ways to search the FCC CD Rom, place the found frequencies into the 10 banks of the database, and then how to program them into your scanner.

 - Tutorial #6 - Installing  20-047/20-546 Radio Shack or UNIDEN USB Programming Cable    

  • This is short tutorial on how install the RS 20-047/20-546 or UNIDEN driver for the very first time.  
        And how to Uninstall the driver if it is not functioning properly.
  • This tutorial takes you through several examples of:
  •     What Happens when you insert the USB Driver CD into your Computer's Drive Drawer
  •     The folders on the CD and which ones to use
  •     How to use Scancat (Select Radio Menu) to detect the serial port 
  •     How to use the "Found New Hardware Wizard to install the Driver for the 1st time
  •     How to check by reading your radio to make sure the driver is really working

  • How to read the frequencies from a Uniden Scanner and save them as a ''Personal RSD file'' to your Hard Drive
  • How to change to another scanner radio - load the saved frequency file and
    program any other scanner that accepts computer programming
  • For demonstration this video shows reading frequencies from a BCD996T,
