HI

Probably the most common issue we get is "I cannot connect". The PRO-2052 DOES NOT USE the same cable as PRO-95/96/97/99.

It is A PLAIN 9 PIN M-F SERIAL CABLE with serial connectors on EACH end)

I can not give you precise advice without knowing the cable you are using. So -
take a look at this "Suggestion" on our FAQ site - it applies to all radios that use the cable (per above)

- If Comm "ONE" is the ONLY  comm port showing, then that means you MUST have a real 9 pin serial connector on your computer (9pin MALE Socket ONLY). If not then read our FAQ's especially the ones "USB...."  to Serial adaptors.
        http://scancat.com/OnLineHelp/FAQ-AssortedSubjects/

YOU MUST PRESS AND HOLD THE ''REMOTE'' ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE RADIO'S BUTTON/PANEL UNTIL THE LETTERS ''SFT'' APPEAR TO RIGHT OF THE FREQEUNCY ON THE RADIO

WHEN the PRO-2052 is "connected" and starts receiving commands from the PC/Scancat, it will start showing "numbers" clocking upward from 001 to 002-3-4 etc. Until that occurs you are probably not on the correct comm port.

Best regards

Jim

Dear Sirs,
I've been considering purchasing a copy of Scancat Lite to program my PRO-2052.  Yesterday I downloaded a copy of the Demo which appears to work fine.  However, this is the first time I've attempted to connect my scanner to my PC.  I dont seem to get my Serial Com port to function.  I've set the communications parameters as per my manual but to no avail.  Do you have any documentation or resources for connecting scanner to PC?  My DEMO wont seem to read from the scanner or program scanner, and I've tried another scanner software program.  I just dont seem to get any connection on my COM 1 port.

Thanks.
