Once you look at the Help file, I think you'll understand that the scanner is using a "Drive letter", not a comm port

Everything you want to do to program or read back what is in your Scanner is accessible from the "Load Read Radio" menu.

What you ask below about seeing what is in the radio should be accessible from the menu "

        look at this screen shot

ALL your "favorites" will be listed when you click on this option.

Hi Jim,

Well, I got the SCAN_CAT COMBO and now trying to get the homepatrol to talk to the scan cat and no dice. I used the 'auto-config' and it does not talk to it. I want to see what I have in my homepatrol, then add to it new frequencies, like CB, ham radio, marine, etc.

I also have watched all the videos, which are good, but nothing on Cb radio, marine-radio, or ham radio. So are you coming out with one of those soon?

Hope you had a Merry Christmas, thank you.

I made a "favorite" of just these frequencies. Then I looked in the radio - all five of them are there. These are all "ham radio" 2 meter freqs.
Most of them to my knowledge are repeaters.

As I stated previously, there are no frequencies that I'm aware of that will not go into the radio. Obviously cellphone freqs are blocked. BUT, if you use frequencies within what the specifications states are "in band", it should work.

Hi Jim,

As long as I can input each frequency, then this is a go and I would like to make sure before I buy 3 of these Scan Cats for gifts. Can you try and see for sure and I'll get back after Thanksgiving.

Thank you very much for your time and have a great holiday.

HI

As far as I Know, that is true. Previous, Uniden had put into their firmware a step size, so freqeuncies that did not divide evenly by whatever step size that might be, would either go off frequency, or not work.... but so far everything I've put into the HP radio has 'worked'.

The MIL-Utilities and Marine band are just two example of "non published" frequencies that are in demand by scanner buffs.

Another example is.... If you're a NASCAR buff, you can load directly into the radio the subscription files from <http://www.racescanner.com>www.racescanner.com as they are already IN the Scancat format. <G>

Being able to program you OWN favorites is by far the best alternative. Depending on what Radio Reference "lets you have" is not the best way to go.
