Hi

If you are having issues connecting to the BCD325P2/996P2 using Windows 10,

A - This issue ONLY affects these two radios when connected to Windows 10 USB

b - This a summation of what we have tested and researched

1 - ALL UNIDEN Scanners that use the Prolific Chip based Cable work
With Scancat-Lite-Plus(SLP) on Windows 10 (And Win XP/7/8)
2 - ALL RADIOSHACK Scanners that use the Prolific Chip based Cable work
With Scancat-Lite-Plus(SLP) on Windows 10 (And Win XP/7/8)
3 - (Repeat) UNIDEN BCD325/996P2 Scanners that use only the USB Cable
work With Scancat-Lite-Plus(SLP) on Windows XP/7/8
       (using the latest usbser.inf driver)
4 - ONLY UNIDEN BCD325/996P2 Scanners that use only the USB Cable
       (using the latest usbser.inf driver)
DO NOT WORK, on windows 10, (but only Windows 10)

Read the above 4 points carefully.
(You) will come to the same basic conclusion we have....
If you have another computer that does not have Windows 10,
   then use "IT".

The Issue has to be the "usbser.inf" Driver's compatibility with Windows 10"

............ Further "Commentary" and "Research" ...........

Uniden states the Driver they supply requires Net Framework 4.0 or greater to work. We have researched this a LOT, and found several posts where other owners of the BCD325P2 BCD996P2 radios are having the same "connection" issues (but only with these two radios ). Having /NetFramework 4.0 installed on the computer does not seem to solve their issues.

The very same driver works just fine on Windows XP/7/8 with ALL of Uniden's Scanners including BCD325P2/996P2. Customers that also have RADIO SHACK scanners, says our Scancat programs "those" radios just fine..... so the problems seem to be isolated to only the two new Uniden Radios.

    And.....

Customers tell us (that) all of their Radio Shack's work with Scancat on the Windows 10 machine..... WITH the RS Cable (and RS driver), which seems to preclude it being an "absolute" that NET Frameworks is totally to blame for comm port connectivity,

We realize everyone thinks "they" are not the party at fault, but with "the customer's results", and our experience with "this problem" only affecting "two" models of Uniden's scanners .... The finger really begins to point in the direction of the Radio or it's driver. . . and we feel confident it's the driver. Otherwise we couldn't program these units (and Radio Shack's) on other windows versions.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT VERSION .NET FRAMEWORK IS ALREADY ON YOUR COMPUTER
Take a look at "this link"

If you wish to Upgrade/Install Framework 4.0
Here are links to get it from Microsoft's site
