RS-ARQ 228

 

 

Rohde & Schwarz is a synchronous simplex ARQ using CCIR476 alphabet.

 

ITA2, ASCII 7 and ASCII 8 (IBM G2) are possible , so far only ITA2 observed.

 

Default speed is 228.5 baud, equal to data modem input of 720 baud.

Error detection by redundant code, blocklength 48 bit (32 data bit / 16 bit

for error detection).

 

Adaptive system with programmed frequency change, determines MUF.

 

 

Turkish, German and Italian Diplo stations are the most commonly found users. The Italian Diplo stations seem to favor the 5 bit (ITA2) mode. Turkish Diplo stations have been found using the 8 bit mode for all traffic.
