Ga'teau De Sirop (Syrup Cake) 1/2 cup margarine 1 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 cup milk 2 cups Steen's syrup 4 cups flour, sifted 2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. cloves Cream margarine til soft; add sugar; blend well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each, til blended. Add milk, Steen's, flour, baking soda and spices; mix til well blended. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 pan also line with greased wax paper; pour in batter. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Test using the finger tip test. Make sure this pan is a full 2 inches deep, the cake will rise that much. Cool in pan and turn out.
